Warning: M15+ (Contains horror)

So much to catch up on, so little time! We have been very busy, Mum, Dad and I, in the past two weeks. We had visitors, doctor appointments, mothers' group... some good things, some not so good. It's been go, go, go! And it doesn't end now - we're off to the Mother Land on Sunday. Whilst Mum is busy getting organised, I thought I'd take a minute to update you all on what I've been doing.

The weekend before last, the beautiful Aunty SJ came to visit! It was great to finally meet her. Coco came to hang out too and we all had a lovely time. Well, sort of. I have to admit, it was a bit of a sad weekend for me. I felt quite unsettled and spent a fair bit of the time crying. But everyone else made the most of it and had fun. SJ and Coco made Mum feel better when she was feeling sad too.

Yay for Yum Cha!

Me, reading Green Sheep to Coco

On Monday night, Becs and Andy came over for dinner. I had to go to bed when they arrived, which I was very unhappy about. Mum and Dad discovered what all those other Mums and Dads mean when they talk about 'tag-team dinner'. I took two hours to go to sleep, so they had to take it in turns with me. I thought it was funny, and I think Becs and Andy did too. Mum and Dad - not so much.

Becs, attempting to stop me crying. She lasted 2 minutes!

I have mentioned in previous posts that I suspected Mum to be a bit selfish, perhaps even cruel, what with making me wait a couple of minutes for my dinner and all. Well, last week, I discovered the true extent of her cruelty, and I was shocked to discover Dad is in on it too. We went to the medical centre on Thursday, the three of us, and were waiting in the foyer when I decided I was hungry. So I let Mum know, nicely, but she just laughed and said something along the lines of 'you'll have something to really cry about in a minute'. So I cried some more, trying to convince her that I really was hungry, but still she gave me nothing. Next we were in with the doctor, who was nice enough but I was only interested in one thing by that stage. Mum and Dad just stood there while the doctor poked and prodded and weighed me (I got her back by weeing on her table!). By this stage, I was really upset. I cried and cried but still I was ignored. Little did I know the worst was yet to come. I was then taken into another room with two women, who said they were nurses, but were obviously witches. They first held my head and put some horrible tasting stuff in my mouth. They then instructed Daddy to hold me down by my arms on the table while they STUCK NEEDLES IN MY LEGS!!!! No, this is not a scene from a horror movie - it really happened! What cruel, cruel world have I been born into? Admittedly, the needles really were no more traumatic than the starvation, and Mum did feed me exactly 23 seconds later, but STILL!! I was so distraught that I fell straight to sleep after lunch to try to forget the whole terrible ordeal. Mum said that I might feel a bit strange afterwards, but apart from being sleepy and a slight fever that night, I was fine. Lucky, or I may have considered calling Children's Services.

Mum did sort of make it up to me on Friday by buying me some new clothes. My favourite thing is a grey tracksuit. On Saturday, we went for brunch and it was raining really hard. When we got home, we dried off and got into our trackies and all had a little nap. It was really nice!

It was Father's Day yesterday. I gave Dad some cufflinks that say 'No. 1 Dad' and Mum and I cooked a nice breakfast. Then we went to the mall, which probably wasn't Dad's favourite thing to do, but never mind...

Other good things that have happened recently:
- I discovered that my hair is growing back!
- I was reunited, albeit briefly, with Squirrel! We had a good chat.
- I've been generally happier. I still get a bit upset in the evenings but nothing cuddles can't fix.

I'll try to post again before Sunday, but if not, my next post will be from this mysterious Mother Land!!
Love,
Amelia
